Decision:

Decision:

1.         The Cabinet recommends to Council that the amended South Kesteven District Council Gambling Statement of Principles is suitable to be considered for adoption.

Reasons for decision:

1.       The report of the Cabinet Member for Commercial and Operations on the draft Gambling Statement of Principles

2.       The Gambling Act 2005, which requires that the Council publish a Statement of Principles every three years

3.       The current Statement is due for renewal by January 2020

4.       The public consultation undertaken earlier in 2019 and the corresponding responses

5.       No changes were deemed necessary following the two responses received

6.       The minor amendments made to the Statement, including updates to the current number of licenced premises and permits in the District and the inclusion of more robust local risk assessment requirements

7.       No changes to the intent or direction of the Statement are proposed

Other options considered and rejected:

The Council as the Licensing Authority is required by the Gambling Act 2005 to review and publish its Statement of Principles at least every three years. The Council may choose not to make any revisions to its Statement based on the review, however, it is thought that the minor amendments suggested will give greater clarity to the renewed Statement.
