Issue details

Financial Impact of Covid-19 on the leisure service

Decision type: Key

Decision status: For Determination

Notice of proposed decision first published: 29/06/2020

Reason for urgency:
Following the publication of the last Forward Plan, the need has arisen for urgent consideration of the financial impact of COVID-19 on the leisure service. The decision will therefore be made under these provisions because it has not been possible to give 28-days prior notification on the Forward Plan. To wait for the next plan to be published and the passing of 28 days would mean deadlines would not be met in order to get Cabinet’s recommendations to the Council for consideration at its meeting on 16 July 2020. Failure to make a decision at this time would have implications on provision of leisure services, in anticipation of the COVID-19 recovery phase.

Explanation of anticipated restriction:
It is anticipated that this item will be exempt under paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) because it contains information relating to the financial or business affairs of an individual or organisation.

Decision due: 7 July 2020 by Cabinet
