The Board briefly looked at each application before discussing the issue in more detail during the private session of the meeting. The Chairman thanked the Community Engagement Manager, Carol Drury for the work that she and her team had done in respect of the applications under the interventions for Parish and Community Assets and Decarbonisation scoring the applications and making sure that they fit the criteria and were value for money.
SK-PCA – 3048 Allington Playpark Project
The application for funding was to improve the children’s play park at Allington playing Field.
SK-PCA-3024 - Opening Up Billingborough
Funding application for the refurbishment and accessibility upgrade of the main stage located within Billingborough Parish Hall.
SK-PCA-3002 – Improvements to Parish Land, Carlby
The funding application was for various elements of a project to improve the footpath access to the play field and provide seating and repair football goalmouth areas and repair a disused area of the playing field.
SK-PCA-3046 – Denton Play Area
The project was to replace play equipment for use by the children of the village.
SK-PCA-3017 – Community Arts Hub
Grantham Arts ambition is to develop a creative space with specialist equipment for ceramics, glass and print available to all. By working with the National Trust and their Community Hub project at Grantham House. Funding was being sought to purchase a glass kiln for a community art project.
SK-PCA-3014 – Jubilee Mount Access
The project was for funding to improve the underfoot conditions on the paths through the Jubilee Mount Memorial area leading to Harrowby Hall from Tennyson Avenue, Grantham.
SK-PCA-3032 – Refurbishment of The Shack
Funding was being sought for the refurbishment of the Shack to enable increased use by the community. The project would replace permanent shutters with double-glazed windows, install energy-efficient heating and lighting and provide accessible toilets and modernise internal wiring. One of the Ward Councillors for Stamford indicated that he had been lobbied in respect of the application and as it was likely to be dealt with after he had left the meeting, he wanted the Board to be aware that he was not in favour of the application.
SK-PCA-3021 – New Kitchen for Centre use and working area for food Pantry – Butterfield Centre
The project was for the relocation and creation of new kitchen facilities within a redundant bathroom and to create a new food parcel packing area in the old kitchen space. The existing kitchen facilities were old and becoming unusable due to damp and were inconvenient due to their position to the Centre’s meeting rooms.
SK-PCA- 3029 – Children’s Counselling Area
The Wellbeing Centre in Grantham offers a meeting space for local people who are suffering the impact of grief. Some of their service users are children and young people. The Charity has found that they require a quiet and private space for their counselling sessions which the open-plan centre does not offer. The funding is for the construction of an enclosed room within the Centre.
SK-PCA-3052 – Our Community Matters
The project is to replace three old air source heat pump units. The original units had come from the demolished St Wulfram’s school and were over 15 years old. New units would help reduce the Centre’s energy bills.
SK-PCA-3035 – Entertainment and Sound System
Funding was being requested for entertainment equipment for the Social Club and Village Hall. The venue did not currently own such equipment and therefore often has to hire equipment for bigger events.
SK-PCA-3022 – New Kitchen
Funding was being requested for a project for the provision of a new kitchen to the Sports and Social Club at Fulbeck. The present kitchen was over 30 years of age and had been second-hand when installed. Various community groups as well as village events use the facilities, as well as if being hired out for christenings, weddings etc.
SK-PCA-3027 – Air Conditioning
The funding request was for the next stage to a broader refurbishment project to upgrade the village hall at Swinstead. The request was for the installation of hot and cold air conditioning to the large hall and small bar area.
SK-PCA-3039 – Refurbishment of Changing Room Block
The project was for funding to refurbish the changing room facility on Recreation Road, Bourne.
SK-PCA-3010 – Inclusive Roundabout
The project was for funding to introduce an Inclusive Roundabout to the Children’s Play Area within the grounds of Baston Village Hall.
SK-PCA-3019 – Goalmouth Restoration
The project was for funding to restore the goalmouths at play areas in Black Bull Green and East End Park, Langtoft with impact play carpet over a prepared stone base to support year round use.
SK-PCA-3018 – The Spinney
Funding has been requested to continue with major site refurbishments at the Spinney to replace the embankment swing and also the resurfacing of the access route.
SK-PCA-3024 – Jubilee Park, Deepings
The application was for funding to cover design cost works and the preparation of documentations for a new high-quality, age appropriate play facilities for older children.
SK-PCA-3049 – Pointon and Sempringham Parish Playground Renewal
The project was for funding to enhance the local play area for both older and young children.
SK-PCD-3053 – Energy Management
The project was for funding to enhance the current solar panelling and install further solar PV panelling.
SK-PDC-3058 – Installing Solar Panels at the Ascension Community Hall
The proposal was for the installation of solar panels on the west side of the roof of the Community Hall at the Church of Ascension in Grantham.
SK-PCD-3067 – Bright Hall Initiative
The project was for funding to improve the energy efficiency of the village hall. As part of the initiative solar panels would be installed on the hall’s roof to generate clean, renewable energy on-site.
SK-PCD-3062 – Dyke Village Hall Low Carbon Energy System
Funding was required for a project to replace the heating system for the village hall. It was proposed that an infra-red electric heating system be installed which would be supplemented by the addition of photovoltaic panels on the roof and a battery storage system.
SK-PCD-3064 – Installation of an Energy Saving Heating System at St Guthlac’s Church
Funding is being requested to replace an outdated boiler heating system. It is proposed to install an energy efficient infrared heating system designed too directly warm people rather than the fabric of the building.
SK-PCD-3069 – Solar PV 2025
The funding request was for the installation of solar PV panels on the roof of Walton Academy.
SK-PCD-3068 – Renewable Energy Installation
The project is for funding for photovoltaic panels to the roof of Caythorpe Playing Field Pavilion with battery storage to capture excess energy.
SK-PCD-3060 – Barrowby Green Canopy
The funding proposal is for a three-part initiative to increase tree cover and enhance community green spaces in Barrowby Village.
